CoD WWII isn't content to merely adapt from cinema but instead tries its damnedest to be cinema presenting aggressively linear map design and gameplay alongside an overly budgeted cut scene narrative.
The classic Call of Duty games were not subtle with their borrowings from cinema, but they accomplished these in ways that generally elevated the text and implemented cinematic set pieces in ways unique to games as a medium.
